Imaging Services Student Technologist – Radiography (2nd-Year Students) Casual | 8–24 hours per week | Flexible Scheduling Are you a second-year radiography student looking to gain hands‑on clinical experience in a supportive environment? Join our Imaging Services team as a Student Technologist and build your skills while working alongside experienced Radiologic Technologists and Radiologists. This casual role offers flexible weekly hours (8–24) based on your availability and department needs. Schedules may include: Day shifts: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM or 8:00 AM–4:30 PM Afternoon/Evening shifts: 11:00 AM–7:00 PM or 3:00 PM–11:00 PM Weekend and holiday rotation is required and is as scheduled. What You’ll Do Under the supervision of a registered technologist, you will integrate your classroom learning with real-world practice while supporting the Imaging team. Requirements

  • Must be an active 2nd year student in ARRT, ARDMS, CNMT, or NMCTB approved school.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal

Responsibilities

  • Assist with imaging procedures at a technical level while being supervised by a Technologist or Radiologist.
  • Operate complex imaging equipment to acquire, analyze, and document high‑quality images following established protocols (modality dependent).
  • Perform daily equipment checks, warm-up processes, and Quality Control procedures under supervision.
  • Support contrast exam preparation, including assisting with setup (but never loading or priming injectors).
  • Ensure patient and staff safety by following all radiation safety standards and protocols.
  • Assist with positioning patients and preparing for exams, without holding detectors or patients during radiation procedures.
  • Manage workflow tasks such as arriving patients, tracking exams, scanning scripts, and scheduling in the Radiology Information System.
  • Provide hands-on assistance during modality-specific exams as directed.
  • Maintain competency in all required equipment and technical skills.
