About The Position

The position is a full-time role requiring 40 hours per week, salaried, exempt, and non-union. A sign-on bonus of $5,000 is offered, with 25% paid after the probationary period, 25% at six months, and 50% after the first year of employment. The role involves performing radiologic studies in accordance with ARRT standards, providing direct patient care, and acting as a resource for staff and patients. Responsibilities include ensuring equipment functionality, performing quality control, managing departmental scheduling, and overseeing patient scheduling. The position also involves contributing to the hospital's strategic plan, managing safety standards, and participating in community activities.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an AMA approved radiologic technology school.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology.
  • Licensed or license eligible in the state of Maine.
  • Previous experience in a managerial role preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform radiologic studies in accordance with ARRT standards.
  • Provide direct patient care as part of the staffing model.
  • Act as a resource for staff and patients in the department.
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems and ensure all equipment is in good working order.
  • Perform, document, and evaluate all equipment Quality Control.
  • Report QC issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Oversee departmental scheduling for staff and on-call.
  • Develop strategies to increase clinical activities in varying volume areas.
  • Order supplies for the department.
  • Manage information for the department, including labeling and storage of files and reports.
  • Oversee patient scheduling and train new staff.
  • Participate in the evaluation and selection of new equipment.
  • Contribute input to the hospital’s strategic plan.
  • Establish a departmental management action plan annually.
  • Work with other managers to allocate resources for departmental goals.
  • Maintain safety standards and practices within the department.
  • Ensure staff compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Participate in community activities and contribute to community efforts.
  • Update departmental policies and procedures annually.
  • Participate in the Hospital-wide Quality Improvement Program and support department-specific initiatives.
  • Participate in emergency/disaster preparedness planning and drills.
