About The Position

The University of Rochester is seeking a dedicated Diagnostic Nurse to provide competent direct patient care in a dynamic diagnostic imaging environment. This role involves collaborating closely with radiologists and imaging technologists to ensure high-quality patient care for those undergoing CT scans, MRIs, Nuclear Medicine scans, X-rays, and Ultrasounds. The Diagnostic Nurse will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and care of patients while providing education and administering necessary medications. This full-time position requires flexibility to work day, evening, and night shifts, including holidays and weekends as needed by the unit.

Requirements

• Requires a Diploma, Associate or Bachelor's degree from an accredited Nursing Program.
• Active New York State RN license in good standing.
• Minimum of 6-12 months of RN experience.
• ACLS and PALS certification required within 6 months.
• Medical/Surgical and telemetry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent direct patient care based on established standards.
• Contribute to unit activities and support enhancement of the care delivery system.
• Support peers in the delivery of patient care services.
• Assume expanded roles such as charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member.
• Ensure the safety, comfort, and care of patients undergoing imaging.
• Administer contrast agents, sedatives, and other medications.
• Actively participate in unit/service activities and assess unit needs.
