A non-exempt position responsible for scheduling appointments for the imaging department and a variety of other office functions.

  • Accurately screens and schedules patients for Imaging Center with an interdisciplinary team focus.
  • Greets patients on the phone and in-person in a warm, cheerful and professional manner.
  • Answers phone in a timely, professional manner that meets department protocols.
  • Obtains required information on patient’s insurance with focus on accuracy. Obtains insurance authorizations and schedules appointments. Verifies referrals match the physician orders.
  • Checks EHR for accuracy. Obtains additional information as needed to process patient.
  • Sends letters to patients with pertinent information when unable to contact patient by phone.
  • Consistently performs administrative tasks related to clinical services.
  • Assists MRI Techs as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED).
  • Minimum one year of recent administrative medical experience or any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.
  • Knowledge of medical practices, terminology and reimbursement policies.
  • Knowledge of radiology and MRI procedures.
  • Knowledge of health care field and medical office protocols/procedures.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and Security rules.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective internal and external working relationships.
  • Skill in verbal and written communication with patients, physicians and staff.
  • Skill in accuracy and detail with respect to demographic data and medical information.
  • Skill in tact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions.
  • Ability to work in a team based environment that places patient satisfaction as the primary focus for measuring success.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other department staff.
  • Ability to set priorities among multiple requests.
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply policies and procedures.
