About The Position

The Imaging Quality Coordinator is responsible and accountable for Quality Assurance / Quality Control projects and educational activities throughout the department. Maintains norms, standards, and improvements to meet or exceed national standards of patient care. The Imaging Quality Coordinator leads the Quality Analytics for the department to meet quality-related data needs of Phoebe Health Care. The Imaging Quality Coordinator uses data from various sources to perform duties to identify, conduct, and support formal improvement initiatives that may relate to regulatory standards, policies, procedures, and general process redesign. The position requires applying these results in both hospital and physician settings. The Imaging Quality Coordinator will also provide educational activities throughout Radiology, keeping standards and improvements meeting or exceeding national standards. The person in this position works under general supervision, is responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Required)
  • Graduate of an accredited, AMA approved, school of Radiology Technology (Required)
  • 5 years general radiography experience (Required)
  • Active certification in Radiology Technology (ARRT-R) (Required)
  • BLS through American Heart Association (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Assesses policies, protocols and guidelines to improve safety, efficiency and patient care.
  • Identifies the customers served by medical imaging.
  • Monitors compliance with universal precautions and standard precautions.
  • Assesses and prioritizes the current processes to improve quality.
  • Creates an effective action plan after reviewing all pertinent data.
  • Develops methods for minimizing hazards associated with medical imaging.
  • Establishes benchmarks and quality indicators to assess quality management issues.
  • Monitors and develops methods to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Develops and provides educational resources to improve the understanding of patient safety and quality management in medical imaging.
  • Documents goals and outcomes based on data analysis.
  • Develops policies, protocols and guidelines in collaboration with other health care providers.
  • Promotes and monitors adherence to radiation safety standards.
