Apply today! JOB SUMMARY: The basic function of the Imaging Patient Coordinator is to efficiently process all patient Imaging visits while providing exceptional customer service.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or its equivalent required.
  • One year of experience in the medical field preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of medical and billing procedures.
  • Ability to effectively use a computer and phone system .
  • Ability to work efficiently and prioritize tasks in a high volume practice.
  • Must understand the procedures associated with managed care plans.
  • Must be personable and friendly at all times.
  • Must be able to work as a team member and assist co-workers.
  • Must have professional and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Greets patients/visitors in a professional, courteous and helpful manner.
  • Verifies patient demographic information and updates patient chart.
  • Scans/copies insurance cards.
  • Collects and verifies managed care referrals.
  • Registers patients for visit.
  • Answers telephones promptly, identifies self and directs calls as appropriate.
  • Covers other Patient Coordinators during absences
  • Provides rotating on-call coverage for weekend/evening hours.
  • Maintains a positive and professional attitude towards patients, co-workers and physicians.
  • Keeps work area orderly and neat.
  • Handles difficult situations tactfully.
  • Posts charges, adds referrals and any additional pertinent information for the billing process.
  • Issues work and/or school notes.
  • Schedules appointments internally and for external referring offices.
  • Reviews proper prep instructions for certain exams (US, DEXA, CT)
  • Creates various orders ensuring that all pertinent information is collected and correct.
  • Reviews MRI/CT/US/XRAY orders in advance for errors and follows up with the proper team or office for corrected order before acquiring orders to Cleveland.
  • Utilizes Medent & Syngo (Cleveland Clinic) on a daily basis.
  • Reviews Imaging reports and charges.
  • Stays on top of buckets for Cleveland Reports, Documents, Inbound/Outbound faxing, TO-DO’s, Order Buckets, and Scheduling Overflow Back–up for assisting research requests for MRI Clearance.
  • Utilizes Craneware for Medical Necessity check.
  • Takes patient payments and reconciles daily payments in Health Pay
  • Other duties as assigned.
