The assistant also organizes and prepares exam rooms and work areas, including cleaning, stocking supplies, and maintaining equipment. Key duties include greeting patients and visitors, responding to information requests, answering telephones, scheduling appointments, and acting as a liaison between physicians, radiologists, and technologists. The position also entails providing radiology reports and images, managing health information records and films, completing necessary documentation, and communicating patient observations and needs to the healthcare team. Routine maintenance and quality monitoring of imaging equipment, along with assisting in the screening and documentation of MRI implants, are also part of the role. The assistant must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate for providing age-specific care to patients across the lifespan, understanding growth and development principles, and assessing patient requirements based on their age.
