About The Position

The Imaging Order Intake Clerk is responsible for receiving, reviewing, and accurately entering external physician imaging orders into Epic. This role ensures all orders meet documentation, compliance, and operational standards before being released to scheduling and clinical workflow. Accuracy and attention to detail are essential to prevent delays in patient care, billing issues, and compliance risks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years of healthcare clerical or medical office experience.
• Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Good problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

• Epic or EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive and review external imaging orders from referring providers not utilizing Epic.
• Accurately transcribe orders into Epic, including exam details and clinical notes.
• Verify required order components, including patient name, date of birth, exam type, provider NPI, signature, and clinical indication.
• Scan and attach documentation appropriately within Epic as an EIC regular MD order.
• Contact referring physician offices to obtain missing or incomplete information.
• Route exams not performed at Eisenhower Imaging Center to the appropriate hospital department.
• Receive and route chart notes and pre-authorization documentation to the pre-authorization team.
• Assist patients with basic order-related inquiries and direct them appropriately.
• Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality at all times.
