About The Position

The Imaging technologist shall produce clinical diagnostic x-ray images as prescribed by physicians and perform routine diagnostic procedures accordingly, while following all standards and safety. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability to be successful.

Requirements

• Completion of a JRCERT approved radiological training program or equivalent, required
• Current registration by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), required
• R.T. MRI, or willingness to obtain MRI accreditation
• Current Iowa Radiologic Technologist Permit to Practice, required
• BLS required, or obtain within 6 months of hire
• Ability to maintain safe and effective patient care.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills with prevalent professional demeanor.
• Ability to use active listening skills to interpret the needs of the patient.

Responsibilities

• Produce high quality x-ray and MRI images of specified body areas as directed by the physician or radiologist.
• Provide proper radiation protection measures.
• Working with the EMR’s to generate and complete exam orders.
• Perform, record, and analyze QC data in order to make judgments concerning the results and take appropriate action to maintain accuracy and precision.
• Maintain a safe and efficient working environment by performing equipment checks, cleaning work area, and monitoring temperatures in accordance with regulatory agencies and hospital policies.
