About The Position

The position is a non-professional health care employee, functioning under the direct supervision of a registered technologist. Must be accepted in an accredited Radiologic Technology program. Senior year students preferred. This position serves as a Radiology Department liaison to assure prompt professional service. Position will be required to perform general patient care duties, prep imaging rooms prior to exam, keep supplies adequately stocked, transport, and business services. Handles patient communication in a professional manner and appropriate to patient age, condition and cultural needs. Provide patient care and follow up appropriate to more than one area as assigned. Demonstrate all necessary skills and knowledge of computers and/or equipment technology in the Department of Radiology including but not limited to PACS and HIS (Meditech). Knowledge of State and JCAHO regulations are a must and you are expected to be familiar with the current Patient Safety Goals and the hospital's current core measures. We're glad you're here. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Previous health care experience
  • Accepted into an accredited school for Radiologic Technology (CT,DIAG, NM, MR), Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) is required
  • Certification/Licensure: BLS/CPR for health care provider in adult, child, and pediatrics
  • Related Experience: Medical terminology college level course, basic anatomy and physiology college level course, computer literacy, general knowledge of various Radiology procedures and preps, aseptic/isolation techniques, and other health care related courses
  • Senior level in an accredited School for Radiologic Science
  • Professional communication skills are required
  • Ability to follow oral/written instructions, troubleshoot and think logically in stressful or problem-solving situations
  • Must be able to handle fast paced environment while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor
  • Thorough knowledge of various Radiology procedural set ups
  • Ability to function as a team member with flexibility while handling numerous tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to lift and transport patients as required
  • Thorough knowledge of various MRI and CT procedures and/or set ups
