The Imaging Information Assistant at WellSpan Health is responsible for managing various tasks related to the communication of non-routine findings, processing requests from the Release of Information department, and assisting Radiologists. This role requires excellent customer service skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a healthcare setting, particularly during evening shifts.

  • Processes release of information requests for legal and medical purposes.
  • Performs exhaustive searches of patient imaging records and prepares comprehensive inventories of requested records.
  • Processes de-identified CD requests for research programs.
  • Researches and proposes solutions regarding Imaging Information Management processes.
  • Contacts patients and requestors to resolve issues with requests.
  • Communicates Imaging non-routine findings to ordering providers accurately.
  • Manages incoming phone calls to the Imaging Information Management department, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Processes requests for duplication of images for continuing care.
  • Imports outside images into the Picture Archive Computer System.
  • Disseminates exam information to outside radiology services for timely interpretation.
  • Assists Radiologists with importing images and monitoring unread worklists.
  • Enters and retrieves data from established computer files using various software applications.
  • Scans documents and ensures accuracy through a QA process.
  • Maintains quality customer service with accurate documentation on Imaging forms and patient records.
  • Coordinates mail and related Imaging items to off-site facilities.
  • Performs clerical duties such as filing, faxing, scanning, and preparing reports.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associates Degree in Medical Secretary, Medical Assistant, or related field preferred.
  • Less than 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting required.
  • Medical terminology course completion within 180 days required.
  • Excellent computer skills are necessary.
  • Typing and filing skills are essential.
