About The Position

To promote and maintain optimal testing practices and overall proficiency and to provide for continued development and implementation of educational and training activities. To oversee the daily operation and all aspects of patient care administered in the Free Standing Emergency Department (FED) Imaging Services.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Radiologic Technology or Ultrasound program.
  • Registered in good standing by the American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT), ARDMS or CCIT and advanced registration in CT by the ARRT.
  • At least 2 years of experience in the field is preferred.
  • Supervisory experience is preferred.
  • BCLS required.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for adherence to the American College of Radiology (ACR) or the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) Standards and maintaining current accreditation in CT.
  • Takes accountability and responsibility for own actions.
  • Works with the Medical Director and Imaging Director in revising and implementing current and new policies, procedures and imaging protocol.
  • Participates in Quality Improvement. Provides reports to the Imaging Director as requested.
  • Assists in maintaining equipment; safety and calibration, as well as participate in new equipment evaluation and selection.
  • Assists in maintaining quality control standards for testing, personnel, and other departmental areas.
  • Assists in educating the community referring physicians, ancillary and office staff with regard to Imaging.
  • Works closely with the Imaging Director in short and long term planning, equipment needs, test procedures, and quality issues.
  • Regularly attends Imaging Leadership meetings.
  • Conducts departmental meetings on a regular basis.
  • Assesses employee competency at appropriate intervals; provides annual assessment of competency to the Imaging Director when required.
  • Demonstrates or explains correct procedures or desired performance; treats mistakes as learning opportunities.
  • Holds self and others accountable for achieving established performance expectations.
  • Assists in the daily cleaning of the area and room as needed in order to maintain a clean and safe environment for both the patients and employees.
  • Assists the Imaging Director in the collection of data for statistical reports.
  • Assists transporting patients from the FED and Hoover Health Center to the department and back as needed via either stretcher or wheelchair.
  • Records and ensures recording of patient data as needed to correlate with procedures performed in order to maintain an accurate medical record.
  • Ensures self and staff attends hospital in-services as required. Completes required Healthstream assignments.
  • Takes time to actively listen to staff concerns.
  • Records all pertinent information on the patient record and imaging requisition when necessary.
  • Performs all CT and Radiology procedures in accordance with the policies, procedures and protocols of the Imaging Department.
  • Properly identifies patients using the hospital approved patient identifiers.
  • Promotes a positive patient experience and teamwork among all Imaging personnel.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
