Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking a detail oriented; customer service focused Imaging Coordinator III - IR Scheduler to join our Imaging Team! The Imaging Coordinator Level 3 (Imaging Coordinator Level 1 Lead) functions as a healthcare worker who, working under the authority of the Imaging Patient Access Supervisor, serves as a medical imaging professional who is responsible for assuring that clerical duties are accurately performed to assist the department with the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Imaging Coordinator Level 3 (Imaging Coordinator Level 1 Lead) activities are performed consistent with their education and training, and in accordance with facility policies and procedures and applicable professional standards. Performance of Imaging Coordinator Level 3 (Imaging Coordinator Level 1 Lead): Under the supervision of the Imaging Patient Access Supervisor, is responsible for overseeing and assuring that clerical duties are accurately performed in completion of, but not limited to, the following areas: performs professional, efficient, and accurate scheduling of patient exams in multiple imaging modalities (CT, MR, US, XR, FL, DXA, Interventional); contacts referring physician if clinical information is needed; registration and pre-registration functions to ensure the smooth transitioning of patients through the services they require; prepare pre-registration packets appropriately for each procedure; call patients daily for preregistration notice and procedure preparation instructions; accurately prescreens patients for any contraindications and reports to clinical staff; ensure that copies of appropriate documentation are obtained to facilitate the billing and collections processes; ensure that co-payments and payments on patients accounts are taken, accounted for and processed accurately on a daily patient payment log collected (check, cash or credit card ) ; ensure that all information entered into the automated admitting/registration system is accurate and complete; successfully registers all patients and update medical records for return patients as needed; Enters and retrieves information from ITS and PACs; prepare and present the paperwork for clinical procedures done in Imaging; works closely with clinical staff to provide patients with screening and procedure education; Monitors PACs for STAT preliminary reports and critical findings and facilitates the communication of that information; facilitates the release of patient imaging records within hospital release of information standards; Recognizes normal/abnormal diagnostic test values and intervenes appropriately; perform level 1 MR safety screening on all patients and staff entering MRI Zone III; back up all incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate person or department for efficient resolution; performs closing procedures accurately; Projects a professional demeanor and appearance while maintaining the confidentiality of patients, coworkers and Northwest Specialty Hospital as appropriate; Works under stress and in situations that demand patience and tact while providing impeccable service; Other duties as may be assigned. Supervision and Management: Lead functions will include training, handling employment & performance related matters, performance evaluations, coaching and staff development. Provide general supervision and evaluation of the Imaging Coordinator Level 1 staff; ensure staff compliance with operational protocols, policies and procedures; ensure that Imaging Coordinator Level 1 staff members have timely access to supplies and logistical support; assist the Imaging Patient Access Supervisor with the orientation and training of new staff; assist with the direction and guidance for departmental workflow; assist with workload scheduling; assist the Imaging Patient Access Supervisor with the preparation and management of the facility budget. Professional Development: Participate in continuing education to ensure that professional knowledge, expertise, and skills are maintained. Health Care Team Interaction: Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with co-workers, administrators, and members of the health care team.
