About The Position

Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system, UChicago Medicine, as an Imaging Center Manager (Heart and Vascular) in the OR Administration department. Here, you will be responsible and accountable for planning, organizing and directing all activities relating to patient care for the respective modality. This is the OR Administration department. This position is 100% onsite opportunity. You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area. The incumbent will work under the general direction of the Assistant Director of Radiology and will provide specialized qualitative/quantitative reports to the Chair, Vice Chair, Executive Director, Assistant Directors and other Radiology managerial staff. Responsibilities include directing the delivery of quality patient care and technologically advanced imaging in a financially responsible manner through direct collaboration with Assistant Director, area physicians, and other professional and support staff throughout the department and organization. Responsibilities include maintenance of regulatory accreditation for relative modalities and compliance with The Joint Commission and State regulatory bodies. Exemplifies mission and values.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in health care or Enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program within six months of hire. Bachelor’s degree completed with 18 months after starting the program.
  • Three years of progressively responsible administrative experience in an ambulatory operation or hospital environment.
  • Proven ability to use computers for work processing, spreadsheets, data management and basic data analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle large volumes of work expeditiously, to meet deadlines, and to work well under pressure.
  • Achievement in developing, implementing, and maintaining successful customer service programs and improvements
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritizes multiple tasks, and exercise sound judgment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Experience supervising union personnel preferred (IR and US only)

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Business Administration, Master of Healthcare Administration or Master of Science in Nursing
  • ARRT, CNMT, ARDMS or RN
  • State License: IR, CT, NM, RN, GMI, Mammo
  • BCLS
  • Experience in an academic medical center or large health system
  • Background working in Interventional Radiology (IR) or multi-modality leadership

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and operational leadership for assigned imaging modality(ies)
  • Develop and execute short- and long-term departmental goals aligned with organizational priorities
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Oversee daily operations across radiologic technologists, IR nurses, radiology nurses, and support staff
  • Optimize workflow, throughput, and patient experience
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and clinical protocols
  • Ensure effective staffing models and team structure
  • Maintain compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC), FDA, IDPH, ARRT, RDMS, NMTCB, and other regulatory bodies
  • Lead accreditation readiness and audit processes
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives and performance metrics
  • Manage and monitor operating budgets, productivity, and cost efficiency
  • Identify opportunities for resource optimization and service line growth
  • Support financial planning and performance objectives
  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams
  • Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and corrective action when needed
  • Navigate and support union environments and collective bargaining agreements
