The primary functions of the Imaging Assistant include patient transport, general cleaning, equipment cleaning, gathering equipment, proper preparation, and assembly of highly specialized equipment. The Imaging Assistant will also assist with specimen transport, room turnover, and performing shave preps. Additionally, the Imaging Assistant will assist the team with patient care (positioning and prepping) under the direction of the RN, Physician, and Technologists. This role facilitates patient flow, serves as a central point of communication, and assists with patient transfers. The Imaging Assistant remains with the patient while awaiting their procedure as needed. Additional duties include but are not limited to ongoing telephone communications between departments, assisting with daily patient schedules, coordinating throughout the procedure room as directed, and retrieving lab results. The Imaging Assistant provides assistance to all hospital-based imaging departments and campus-adjacent imaging centers as needed to support patient care.
