About The Position

The Imaging Ancillary Applications - EHR Clinical Solutions Analyst plays a critical role in supporting and optimizing clinical imaging and ancillary applications across various service lines at UTMB Health. This advanced-level position requires extensive technical expertise and a strong understanding of clinical workflows to enhance the delivery of care through robust application support and process improvement. The analyst will be responsible for troubleshooting, leading system optimizations, and supporting large-scale initiatives involving third-party integrations and new system implementations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent and/or five years of related experience.
  • Strong background in Information Technology, with a focus on advanced troubleshooting and support for clinical applications.
  • Extensive experience with diagnostic imaging workflows and applications, including PACS, VNA, and other ancillary systems in healthcare settings.
  • Proven experience in integrating third-party applications, such as AI and analytics tools, with core clinical systems like PACS, VNA, and Epic EMR.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data standards such as HL7, DICOM, and FHIR for interoperability and data exchange across clinical applications.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects from initiation to implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert-level troubleshooting, support, and maintenance for a diverse range of imaging and clinical applications.
  • Lead complex integration initiatives to enhance interoperability between imaging systems and Epic EMR.
  • Act as a project lead for major upgrades, new application implementations, and optimizations.
  • Serve as a liaison between clinical departments and ITS, maintaining strong relationships with various service lines.
  • Identify and implement process improvements across supported applications, optimizing workflows and enhancing efficiency.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions to improve user proficiency and understanding of application functionalities.
  • Provide high-quality support both remotely and on-site at hospital and clinic locations as needed.
  • Actively participate in efforts to improve ITS Imaging team processes and contribute to team development.
