About The Position

The Image Processor Operator position at Hallmark involves operating a direct-to-plate image setting system to convert digital artwork files into film for press-ready printing plates. This role requires maintaining equipment, executing quality systems, and participating in team problem-solving activities. The position is based in the Lawrence Production Center and operates on a Monday to Friday schedule from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year's experience with pre-manufacturing or manufacturing card processes.
  • One year experience in using Mac or personal computer.
  • One year knowledge in using prepress files for card processes—such as Quark, Illustrator, Freehand, etc.
  • Must be able to pass a 2010 version of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint testing.
  • Must be able to pass a typing test of 30 wpm.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. occasionally.
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand/wrist motion and fine motor skills 95% of the time.
  • Ability to perform job in a seated position approximately 90% of the time.

Nice To Haves

  • One year experience working with Orbiter or Prodo.
  • One year experience in software packages Preps, In Design and Acrobat Professional.
  • Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills and excellent communication skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with multiple customers in a high pace environment.

Responsibilities

  • Access digital artwork files through Hallmark's network, DCL and/or disks.
  • Operate, maintain and make necessary adjustments to the MacIntosh computer, its hard drive and data vault.
  • Operate, maintain and make necessary adjustments to the imager and processor.
  • Execute the Quality system including preflight.
  • Complete regular maintenance and cleaning, including TPM's.
  • Properly handle and dispose of hazardous material according to procedure.
  • Maintain own inventory of supplies (processor, chemistry, film printer, paper, etc.).
  • Demonstrate flexibility and teamwork to positively influence how goals are accomplished within shorter periods of time.
  • Utilize good safety practices.
