We are seeking an emerging Image Processing (IP) Engineer who will join a highly skilled team of systems engineering technologists and algorithm developers supporting various contracts and IRADs within Missiles and Fire Control. IP Engineer tasks include: • Design, integrate, and test IP, target detection, and/or image enhancement algorithm solutions for missile and fire control products • Develop, verify, and validate both complex models and simulations that utilize match filters, convolutional neural networks, and other such techniques to detect targets of interest. • Evaluate system performance in complex scenarios and environments and verify system and subsystem level requirements • Perform critical studies, analyses, and test activities that support ground and flight test efforts including Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) activities • Support program reviews and technical interchange meetings with internal leadership and/or external customers

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, physics, computer engineering, electrical engineering, applied mathematics, or similar
  • Candidate must have demonstrated the ability to perform one or more of the following Image Processing (IP) assignments based on completed course work or professional experience
  • Develop and analyze algorithms such as match filtering, signal to noise analysis, and image enhancement algorithms
  • Candidate should be proficient in one or more of the following languages: Python, C++, Matlab
  • Demonstrate strong math skills in the areas of linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, trigonometry, and convolution transformations

Nice To Haves

  • Experience developing and analyzing algorithms related to signal/image processing
  • Ability to perform preflight system performance assessment and post flight verification analyses
  • Experience designing and analyzing target detection and image enhancement systems
  • Demonstrated skills in probability, statistics, and Design of Experiments (DOE)
  • Experience with Model-based systems engineering (MBSE)
  • Experience deploying algorithms that satisfy real-time performance requirements
