About The Position

The Warehouse Team Lead is critical front-line leadership role responsible for coordinating the daily activities of a specific functional team within the Distribution Center. Reporting directly to an Area Operations Supervisor, the Team Lead ensures that their assigned team (Floor Team Leads and Warehouse Associate) Execute operations safely, accurately, and efficiently. This position acts as the primary link between the Supervisor and the floor, translating daily goals into actions and providing direct guidance, training, and support to associates.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • Two (2) years of general warehouse experience. Prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Google Workspace (Gmail, Sheet, Docs), warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and RF Scanner usage.
  • Must be able to communicate professionally, clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
  • Must have or be able to immediately obtain an approved certification for driving fork-lift trucks.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operation, inventory control, and relevant equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and understanding of computer inventory and log systems.
  • Ability to work with various levels of personnel, possessing conflict management, stress management, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of concepts and principles of leadership and customer service.
  • Ability to keep employees safe by teaching safety procedures and ensuring they are followed.
  • Knowledge of building evacuation procedures and the ability to assist others during evacuation.
  • Knowledge of security policies and proper use of accident prevention procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Leads warehouse personnel; orients, trains, evaluates, and disciplines workers; identifies training as needed. Monitors personnel time and attendance.
  • Enforces standard operating procedures (SOPs) for receiving, put-away, picking, packing and shipping, ensuring all VMS scans and physical handling are compliant.
  • Responsible for inventory control and cycle counts; monitors and logs all incoming and outgoing shipments of goods and materials in the VMS when assigned.
  • Direct the daily workflow of the assigned team assigning tasks based on volume, priority, and the Supervisor's plan to ensure goals are met.
  • Leads the on-the-job training for new warehouse Associate and Floor Team Leads, ensuring they are proficient in WMS usage, safety protocols, and operational tasks.
  • Provides direction and coordinates schedules and activities of the assigned personnel; assists in training workers in computer operations and filling, shipping and stocking supplies.
  • Audits processes, suggests and documents process improvement ideas; refers to established procedures pertinent ISO 9001:2015. Participated in root cause analysis (RCS) and investigations.
  • Maintains an active presence on the warehouse floor, monitoring work progress, resolving immediate bottlenecks and ensuring associates have the tools and equipment needed to perform.
  • Monitors WMS/ Crossdock data entry systems by the team to ensure inventory accuracy and real-time to ensure inventory accuracy and real-time visibility for the Customer Service Team.
  • Participates in daily and weekly operation meetings. Analyzes warehouse working environment and ensures all safety and security guidelines are followed.
  • Serves as the first point of escalation for operational issues on the floor (e.g., damaged, freight, missing paperwork, WMS errors) resolving them or escalating to the supervisor as needed.
  • Communicates shipments status reports; works collaboratively with Traffic Coordinators (U.S Employees only).
  • Act as a liaison between the customer service coordinators and warehouse operators. Communicates via telephone, e-mail, radio, and assists in answering client inquiries. (U.S Employees only).
  • Assists with dock door assignments for inbound and outbound flows, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols (e.g., engaging dock locks, chocking wheels) and security standards (e.g., verifying driver identification, visitor logs, trailer inspections) before any physical work begins.
  • Monitors and enforces safety guidelines (PPE usage, forklift safety, pedestrian zones) and immediately address or reports unsafe behaviors.
  • Assists the operations Supervisor with the immediate reporting of safety incidents, near-misses, or property damage. Participate in preliminary investigations (e.g., securing the scene, gathering initial statements) to support root cause analysis and prevent recurrence.
