History of the Company: Superior Ambulance Service started in 1959 with one ambulance and today is the largest independent, locally owned, and operated emergency medical services provider in the Midwest. Superior employs more than 3,500 licensed EMTs, Paramedics and Nurses, operating a fleet of more than 800 ambulances throughout Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Superior also provides Critical Care, helicopter, and fixed wing emergency medical transportation. We are looking for highly motivated and self-driven candidates to join the EMS Industry. We are offering an on-site 18 week EMT Student Program that will educate students and prepare them to challenge the National Registry Exam and become an Illinois Licensed EMT. All materials are covered by Superior Ambulance Service (SAS). Upon receiving their Illinois EMT licensure, the student will be hired as a full time employee and be required to complete a [15 months] commitment of continuous full time employment. There is NO cost for the selected students to attend the class unless they are unable to complete the one year of employment after licensure. Our 280 hour class will provide hands on training that will assist prospective candidates with obtaining their National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) and state licenses. Within this 3-4 month course you will learn skills related but not limited to Emergency Medical Services (EMS) vehicle operations, airway management, cardiac emergencies, pharmacology, pediatrics, trauma, and obstetrics.
