About The Position

The IHSS Caregiver position is a part-time role focused on providing essential care to a paralyzed male patient during weekend mornings. The caregiver will be responsible for performing specific caregiving tasks, ensuring the patient's comfort and well-being, and following established routines. This position requires a reliable individual with experience in caregiving and the ability to use specialized equipment such as a Hoyer lift.

Requirements

• Must be a current IHSS Provider with a valid provider number.
• Experience using a Manual Hoyer lift.
• Ability to perform bed to wheelchair transfers.
• Experience in dressing and caring for a patient, including putting on compression socks.
• Knowledge of diapering and cleaning for a paralyzed patient.
• Experience in wound care and following RN directions.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care during weekend mornings from 6am to 8am on Saturdays and Sundays.
• Use a Manual Hoyer lift for patient transfers between bed and wheelchair.
• Assist with dressing the patient, including putting on compression socks.
• Perform diapering and cleaning tasks as part of the patient's care routine.
• Administer wound care as directed by a registered nurse.
• Follow established routines to ensure efficient care delivery.
