About The Position

Intern Students gain work experience that can be applied to future career goals. The work experience and projects are related to the student's field of study and support Intermountain's mission, vision and values. This is a part-time, day shift internship with no benefits. Interns will work approximately 12 hours per week. The role has remote and hybrid expectations, with remote work being flexible up to 12 hours per week, including one required one-hour check-in each week. Interns are required to be in person during the summer camp cohort they support, which are co-hosted at hospital locations. The primary intent of this job description is to set a fair and equitable rate of pay for this classification. Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor. All positions are subject to close without notice.

Requirements

  • Concurrently enrolled in and progressing through their education program in a related field of study.
  • Must provide documentation of enrollment in an accredited program, any earned degree or certification that may be required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the knowledge and skills in the field directly related to the intern opportunity.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated organization skills, detail oriented and the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently maintain a good rapport and a positive demeanor with employees and customers.
  • Demonstrated initiative and willingness to take on additional assignments when needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Students who have taken graphic design, media design, social media design, or health science classes during high school or college.
  • Must attend all three days of their assigned IHEALTH summer camp cohort in person.
  • Ability to choose one of the following IHEALTH Summer 2026 Cohort Dates & Locations to attend in-person: McKay-Dee Hospital – July 14, 15, 16; Salt Lake City Hospital(s) – July 7, 8, 9; Logan Hospital – August 4, 5, 6; Utah County Hospital(s) – June 23, 24, 25; Salt Lake City Hospital(s) – July 28, 29, 30.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference for students who have participated in Intermountain youth programs during any summer, fall, or spring term.
  • Along with Graphic design, media design, and social media design experience.
  • Experience in related field.

Responsibilities

  • Participates and is involved in a variety of projects that support the needs of the department/facility: Works with the members of the team to identify solutions and performs tasks that accomplish individual and team goals. Attends team/department meetings and actively participates/takes on opportunities to share knowledge and skills that are pertinent to the meeting.
  • Gains knowledge of the department's/facilities functions: May job shadow various roles within the department in order to understand their role in the organization. Works with other members of the department / facility to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • May be assigned one or more specific projects during the internship. Demonstrates an understanding of the process and accountability for the results/outcomes. Works independently or as a member of a team to accomplish the tasks necessary to successfully complete the project. Involves others when needed in a timely manner and works to meet project timelines.
  • Provides staff operational/clerical support to the department/facility as needed.
