Requirements

  • High school diploma or Bachelor's degree (preferred) in Environmental or related field with 0-2 years of relevant experience, or equivalent education and experience.
  • TDSHS-licensed Asbestos Building Inspector and Air Monitoring Technician/Project Monitor with MIOSH 582 Equivalency training.
  • Valid Drivers License; reliable transportation; ability to pass a drug screen.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including respirator and safety harness.
  • Ability and willingness to conduct asbestos surveys, abatement observations, air sampling, and clearances.
  • Physical ability to climb, use ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to travel locally up to 100%, regionally up to 50%, and willingness to be cross-trained.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience with additional environmental, industrial hygiene, and monitoring projects (not required).
  • Preferred additional professional licenses (not required), including Lead and Mold credentials.
  • Preferred certifications and skills (not required), including 40-hr HAZWOPER, regulatory knowledge, sampling equipment, Microsoft Office, and report writing.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct asbestos, lead-based paint, mold, and other hazardous materials surveys under supervision.
  • Provide asbestos and lead-based paint oversight during abatement activities.
  • Collect detailed field notes and photographs of site conditions and findings.
  • Prepare chain-of-custody documents and record survey data on approved forms.
  • Prepare detailed sample location maps.
  • Compile, organize, and present data; prepare reports or portions of reports with recommendations to senior staff.
  • Use, calibrate, download data from, clean, and maintain standard and specialized field equipment.
  • Implement health and safety policies; maintain driving eligibility; travel locally and regionally; work nights and weekends as required.
