The Ignition/MS SQL Developer position at PA Solutions involves designing, developing, and maintaining Ignition applications and Microsoft SQL Server databases within a manufacturing or industrial environment. The role requires a strong understanding of SCADA development and database management, focusing on creating data-driven applications and ensuring system performance and security.

  • Design, develop, and maintain Ignition applications, dashboards, and HMIs.
  • Configure and manage Ignition Gateways, projects, and tags.
  • Integrate Ignition with PLCs, OPC servers, and other industrial devices.
  • Implement scripting and automation using Python in Ignition.
  • Design and optimize database schemas, tables, views, and indexes.
  • Develop, test, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot database performance issues.
  • Implement data integration solutions, including ETL processes.
  • Integrate data from Ignition applications with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Create real-time data analytics and reporting solutions.
  • Work with APIs and third-party integrations to enhance system functionality.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, IT, and operations.
  • Provide training and technical support for Ignition and SQL-based solutions.
  • Ensure documentation of all development activities and system configurations.
  • Monitor system performance and implement improvements as needed.
  • Perform regular system updates and ensure data security compliance.
  • Troubleshoot issues and provide timely resolutions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience with Ignition SCADA platform (Ignition 8.1 preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of MS SQL Server (database design, T-SQL scripting, and optimization).
  • Experience in Python scripting, especially within Ignition.
  • Familiarity with industrial protocols (e.g., OPC UA, Modbus, BACnet).
  • Experience in manufacturing, process control, or industrial automation environments.
  • Knowledge of Ignition Perspective and Vision modules.
  • Understanding of network architecture and IT/OT convergence.
  • Certifications in Ignition or Microsoft SQL Server.
