About The Position

The Ignition Software Developer is responsible for providing development resources for Ignition applications used in the manufacturing process. Schedule: M-F, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Location: Remote At Argen, we’re in the business of creating healthy, confident smiles one case at a time. We are 500 team members strong. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree with Computer Science, Information Technology or related combination of experience and education required.
  • Certified with Ignition 8.0 or greater.
  • Proven experience working with Perspective.
  • Experience using GitHub.
  • Experience integrating Ignition with PLCs for the purpose of control and reporting.
  • Experience in Java and/or Python development
  • Comfortable working in an agile environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp complex, technical concepts.
  • Must possess excellent problem solving skills, and the self-motivation to improve skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Technical aptitude and analytical propensity.
  • Proven ability to manage projects to completion.
  • Must be able to work independently with general supervision and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to learn technical concepts by reading work instructions and standard operating procedures, and completing on-the-job training.

Nice To Haves

  • Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Implements new Ignition features and changes while monitoring security, reliability, and performance.
  • Performs complex and precise troubleshooting to pinpoint root causes for issues identified by the manufacturing and support teams.
  • Participates in the agile development process (SCRUM).
  • Completes Ignition development projects and processes.
  • Works with end users to identify areas of improvement for the Ignition applications.
  • Participates in blueprinting, requirements gathering, and other planning functions for new projects.
  • Performs code review to verify changes made by other developers.
  • Adheres to work instructions as needed.
  • Follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and establishes open communication with supervisor and manager.
  • Ensures that all company safety rules are followed.
  • Makes recommendations to management for continuous improvement.
