About The Position

The Technical Sales Intern will join the IGNITE Internship Program, a 12-week structured, cohort-based experience designed to attract and develop early talent. The intern will gain hands-on exposure to the day-to-day activities within Distributions sales, where you will learn how Danfoss supports and grows business through distributor partners, strategic accounts, and aftermarket/MRO channels. This internship provides a unique opportunity to learn about Danfoss Power Solutions' products, solutions, and value-selling approach through structured technical and soft skills training, peer-to-peer learning, and role-based hands-on activities. From day one, you will be paired with a peer buddy and supported by a mentor to guide your professional development.

Requirements

  • Current full-time undergraduate student (B.Sc.) in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Completion of at least sophomore year by the start of the internship (rising junior or senior).
  • Strong interest in technical sales, account management, and customer engagement.
  • Energetic, eager to learn, with a passion for engineering and technology.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Must be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship, both now and in the future.
  • Self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced settings.
  • Organized and adaptable to changing priorities and tasks.
  • Comfortable engaging with customers in person and during field visits.
  • Must be available to work on-site at our new Danfoss Minneapolis Campus (Plymouth, MN) or our Ames, IA facility.
  • Relocation is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Support distribution and strategic account development through opportunity tracking, customer follow-up, and sales engagement activities.
  • Gain exposure to account management tasks such as pricing support, quoting, pipeline updates, and customer communication.
  • Participate in customer meetings, calls and field visits to learn relationship-building and value-selling techniques.
  • Gather and communicate market intelligence using CRM and sales enablement tools to support channel planning and competitive position.
  • Network with senior leaders and peers through cohort learning sessions, and professional development workshops.
