About The Position

The Intervention Specialist is dedicated to supporting students who are experiencing academic, behavioral, or social challenges. This role involves developing and implementing targeted intervention strategies that help students overcome learning obstacles, build essential skills, and achieve academic success. The Intervention Specialist collaborates with educators, counselors, and families to create individualized plans that address each student’s unique needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Educational Psychology, Counseling, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Teacher Certification
  • Experience working with students in a school setting, particularly those with learning or behavioral challenges.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Assessment & Identification:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify students who may benefit from targeted interventions.
  • Analyze academic, behavioral, and social-emotional data to determine specific areas of need.
  • Work with teachers and support staff to develop criteria for intervention referrals.
  • Intervention Planning & Implementation:
  • Develop individualized intervention plans based on assessment data and student needs.
  • Implement evidence-based intervention strategies in small groups or one-on-one sessions.
  • Adapt instructional methods and materials to address diverse learning styles and challenges.
  • Progress Monitoring & Evaluation:
  • Regularly monitor student progress and adjust intervention strategies as necessary.
  • Maintain detailed records of student performance and intervention outcomes.
  • Provide periodic progress reports to educators, parents, and administration.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, school counselors, and other specialists to integrate interventions into the broader instructional framework.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and strategies for support at home.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and professional development opportunities.
  • Program Development & Continuous Improvement:
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of school-wide intervention programs and initiatives.
  • Stay current on research and best practices in intervention strategies and special education.
  • Share insights and recommendations to enhance overall student support services.
