About The Position

The Somerset County Intoxicated Driver Resource Center (IDRC) operates a court-mandated 12-hour program for persons convicted of alcohol or drug-related driving or boating offenses. The IDRC detains, educates, and screens all participants. Based upon screening criteria, participants may be referred to a substance use disorder treatment provider for further evaluation. If referred and treatment is recommended, the IDRC will monitor enrollment in treatment services. The IDRC is also responsible for reporting instances of non-compliance to the sentencing court and the New Jersey Intoxicated Driving Program (IDP). As an IDRC team member, the responsibilities of the Program Specialist include assisting in all clerical aspects of the IDRC program to ensure the efficient operation of the IDRC by treating all consumers with respect, scheduling of DUI offenders in a timely manner, proper monitoring of affiliated agencies, case management, abiding by state regulations of N.J.A.C. 10:162, and upholding federal confidentiality laws (42 CFR Part 2) regarding release of client information.
