About The Position

The Identity Services Manager, University Information Services (UIS) - Georgetown University, provides knowledge, skillsets and subject matter expertise for provisioning/deprovisioning, federation, authentication and access management, and directory services. This position will also support the design, implementation and ongoing improvement of data validation and feedback interfaces for core business systems. In this role, you will apply your knowledge and skillsets to provide support, consultation, design services, testing, documentation and implementation for Okta, Sailpoint, LDAP, Shibboleth/SAML and Linux based systems. That will include configuration/implementation of new functionality, versioning, modify existing set ups, and provide support for trouble shooting various issues or incidents. Duties include but are not limited to: Management of existing Linux based systems and applications, infrastructure support and identity integrations with various technologies and services. Ensuring collaboration and cross-training across multiple software platforms. Managing and prioritizing development projects to align with organizational goals. Implementing best practices for software development and maintenance. Reporting on project progress and team performance to senior leadership. Work Interactions This position will report to the Director of Identity and Access Management, UIS. The work of the Identity Services Manager is essential to the organization's overall success, as it directly impacts the efficiency and reliability of our higher education platforms. This role will collaborate closely with other department members and stakeholders, ensuring that development efforts support the broader mission and goals of Georgetown University.

Requirements

  • Bachelors in Computer Science or relevant experience
  • 2+ years of software engineering experience (Java or Python preferred, but open to other languages).
  • Strong background in API-first design, microservices, event-driven architecture, and cloud technologies.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to ask bold questions, influence direction, and lead solutioning conversations.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Workday, Ellucian Banner and Okta a plus.
  • Proficiency with Lucidchart, Jira, and Confluence.
