About The Position

Legacy Behavioral Health Services is hiring individuals with a passion for making a difference in their community! We are seeking a Direct Support Professional to work in our West Park Residential Program in Valdosta, Georgia. Under supervision, Direct Support Professionals will provide training and support services to persons with developmental disabilities in a 24/7 community residential program. Responsibilities include delivering skills training in daily living and community integration as outlined by the Individual Service Plan, maintaining a clean and sanitary home environment to meet CARF safety regulations, and assisting in coordinating transportation for persons served. Teamwork with fellow staff members is essential to ensure the highest quality of IDD services. Proficiency in computer skills is required. Additionally, the position requires monitoring and documenting persons served progress in treatment. Flexibility to work varying hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Valid GA driver’s license with less than 5 points.
  • CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain CPR Certification.
  • Proficient in verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent time management and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Good documentation skills.
  • Proficient in English language.
  • Knowledge of Person-centered approach.
  • Computer experience with Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to work with a diverse team of people.

Responsibilities

  • Provide training and support services to persons with developmental disabilities.
