About The Position

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for an Instrumentation, Data and Controls (ID&C) UI/UX Software Engineer, supporting TOS II, at Arnold Air Force Base in Tullahoma, TN. The ID&C Software Engineer will be working as a member of an integrated team responsible for design, implementation and configuration management of system software associated with building models from measured data and data acquisition systems in an aerospace ground test environment. Open to internal and external candidates. This position requires occasional scheduled extended hours and/or weekend work to meet critical contractual requirements and occasional unscheduled night or weekend support in emergency situations. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, computer engineering or a related scientific discipline from an accredited college or university.
8 years of relevant experience.
Current U. S. Citizenship required.

Nice To Haves

A strong aptitude for problem-solving and a demonstrated passion for learning new technologies.
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban) and concepts like sprints.
Experience programming real-time applications is a plus.
Experience or academic coursework in Graphical User Interface (GUI) development.
Experience or academic coursework creating software design documentation, including UML diagrams (e.g., class, sequence, or use case diagrams).
Relevant work experience or college coursework in software engineering including design, coding, configuration control and maintenance.
Knowledge of The Software Development LifeCycle (SDLC).
Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming concepts.
CompTIA Security+ Certification, or higher-level security certification, is preferred.
Knowledge of major industry or regulatory standards and design criteria pertinent to Instrumentation, Data, and Controls (ID&C) Software engineering discipline.
Active DoD Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

Performance of work, generally within Software Engineering, involves the design, development and maintenance of front-end interfaces for data acquisition, data processing, data mining, and data storage systems developed and maintained at the AEDC.
Serve as a mentor to junior developers by providing assistance with questions or understanding of the software components
Provide design guidance on proposed enterprise system improvements and architectural changes to the software engineers as well as BNH management.
System Development: Develop system requirements and design systems that are configurable and modifiable to interface with existing and future hardware and software
User Research and Analysis: Conduct user research, interviews, and surveys to understand user behaviors, needs, and pain points.
UI/UX Strategy: Conceptualize and develop a comprehensive UI/UX strategy that aligns with our customer requirements for the mission
Visual Design: Create and design UI elements such as menus, tabs, widgets, and other visual components to aid in the intuitive use of our systems.
Verification and Validation: Perform software testing and verification
Configuration Management: Support software configuration management practices to ensure system integrity
Security: Apply system security to meet Federal Information Assurance requirements
