The Compliance Unit under the Bureau of Human Resources within the Division of Administration is responsible for processing and conducting background investigations on new hires and current employees, issuing, renewing and replacing lost/stolen IDs, conducting exit consults, tracking over 3500 professional licenses, tracking employment authorization, making referrals for medical clearance for city and non-city personnel, referring employees to the Department of Investigations, processing name and address change, tracking residency compliance, conducting City, State and Federal clearances on all new hires, conducting Medicaid billing clearance, tracking and investigating nepotism, liaising with DCAS to assist with civil service examinations, re-credentialing medical staff in alignment with the State and Federal regulations as it pertains to medical billing and article 28/36. The Staff Analyst Trainee will serve as the Agency's Compliance Specialist.

  • Reviewing all resignation and retirement actions in PATS and communicate with exiting employee on the next steps.
  • Utilizing PMS, PRISE and NYCAPS to process exit information accurately.
  • Preparing quantitative analysis and written reports on employee departures (Exits).
  • Researching and providing guidance on employee leave balances during the exit process.
  • Ensuring timely collection of assigned agency ID/Badges.
  • Issuing, renewing, replacing lost or damage employee ID/Badges.
  • Granting/removing Gotham access using the S2 system for new or departing employees.
  • Tracking and maintaining inventory on ID supplies and badges.
  • Processing all employee personnel action including reassignments, Civil Service Appointments, title changes and promotions for current employees.
  • Making recommendations on appropriate action to be taken following investigations/processing for employee personnel actions.
  • Scheduling medical appointments as required for employee personnel actions.
  • Conducting follow-up on missing documentation during employee processing.
  • Verifying claimed work experience.
  • Examining records and documents provided by employee for authenticity.
  • Handling inquiries and information of confidential nature.
  • Maintaining and updating various tracking databases and office records.
  • Communicating with the hiring programs when issues arise pertaining to their employees.
  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college.
