About the position

The Head Boys Swimming Coach at Lakeridge High School is responsible for providing a positive learning environment for athletes, teaching necessary skills for successful performance, and managing athlete behavior during training sessions, meets, and events. The coach will also be responsible for taking necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities, upholding school rules, and attending all scheduled meets and events. The position requires setting a positive role model for students and attending coaches' meetings. All coaching contracts are offered on a seasonal basis only, and reapplication for coaching positions is required annually.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a positive learning environment for the athletes.
  • Teach the skills necessary for successful performance.
  • Manage athlete behavior during training sessions, meets and events.
  • Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations and School Board Policies.
  • Attend all meets and events scheduled for the sport.
  • Set a positive role model for students.
  • Attend coaches' meetings.

Requirements

  • Experience with students and the sport/activity.
  • Certification through the NFHS Coaches Certification Program (ASEP) is required before the start of the season.
  • First Aid Certification, CPR/AED, Bloodborne Pathogen and Coaches Certification training are required.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $5,851 - $7,819 depending on experience.
