ICU Technician
About The Position

The ICU tech supports the unit by stocking items and assisting patients, helping families/guests and performing clerical duties as needed. JOB SUMMARY: Assists in the care and support of the patient, utilizing technical nursing skills with minimum assistance.
Requirements
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Completion of a Nurse Assistant training course or acceptable patient care experience in a hospital, nursing home, or related health care facility.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to function in stressful situations.
- Current CPR card or completion of course within 30 days of hire
- Successful completion of Basic Dysrhythmia course within 6 months of hire
- Must have strength and stamina for prolonged walking and standing.
- Demonstrates adequate vision, or correctable with glasses/contacts, to read and write.
- Able to hear, or correctable with hearing devices, and able to talk to converse with others in person and over the phone.
- Able to hear, see, and feel to accurately assess, monitor, and administer care.
- Able to frequently lift at least 60 lbs., reach, pull, push, bend, stoop, and kneel.
- Possess fine motor skills and hand/eye coordination to give care (i.e.: finger stick blood sugars, vital signs, feed patients, and handle instruments).
