About The Position
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in critical care nursing and demonstrate exceptional patient assessment skills. This role requires a compassionate approach to patient care, particularly for those with complex medical needs, including geriatrics and individuals with developmental disabilities. Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Experience in ICU or critical care nursing preferred.
- Knowledge of hospice palliative medicine and senior care practices is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Durable Medical Equipment (DME) is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Strong understanding of patient assessment techniques and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems for documentation purposes.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with healthcare teams and patient education.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU setting.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Monitor vital signs and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care effectively.
- Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatment plans, and discharge processes.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient information, including ICD-10 coding as necessary.
- Assist with procedures such as dialysis and other specialized interventions as required.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
