Are you a highly motivated and adaptable clinical pharmacist seeking a challenging yet rewarding role? Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center is looking for an ICU-ED Clinical Pharmacist to join our mission-focused team. This is an exciting opportunity to provide direct patient care, contribute to a collaborative environment, and make a significant impact on patient outcomes. As an ICU-ED Clinical Pharmacist, you'll be an integral part of our interdisciplinary team, actively engaging in a variety of critical functions: Responsible for providing the prospective evaluation and monitoring of drug therapy and make patient specific recommendations to improve pharmacotherapy outcomes for hospitalized patients. Provide education regarding drug therapy to health care professionals, patients and caregivers as well as instruct and educate pharmacy students and pharmacy residents.

  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounding and direct patient care, applying your expertise to optimize pharmacotherapy for critically ill patients in both the Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Department.
  • Serve as an active member of the adult code blue response team, providing essential pharmaceutical support during critical emergencies.
  • Assist with precepting pharmacy learners, including pharmacy residents and students, shaping the next generation of pharmacy professionals.
  • Contribute to impactful research projects, helping to advance pharmaceutical knowledge and improve patient care.
  • Collaborate with peers and interdisciplinary colleagues to develop innovative initiatives that enhance patient care and safety.

  • Excellent people skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • The ability to manage and adapt to a rapidly changing healthcare setting, demonstrating resilience and flexibility.

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Pharmacy or Doctorate Degree in Pharmacy required.
  • ASHP-Accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy residency or 3 years of relevant clinical pharmacy experience required.
  • Active and valid PA licensure or eligibility as a Pharmacist required.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize daily activities to meet patient care needs required.
  • Effective verbal communication skills, time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities required.
  • Ability to analyze clinical data and perform calculations.
  • Computer and Microsoft Office skills required.
  • Extensive knowledge of pharmacotherapy required.
  • Attention to detail and critical thinking skills required.
  • Effective mentoring and precepting abilities required.
