ICT Designer
About The Position
As an ICT Designer, you will be primarily responsible for providing data center design services and leading a team. You must have a thorough understanding of Data Center technology infrastructure design practices and Hyper-Scaler Standards. Your expertise will be crucial in liaising with clients, developers, installation contractors, and all related trades design team members. You will manage a design team of 3 to 5 technology engineers, meet client expectations, adhere to deadlines, and develop and coordinate appropriate design solutions to ensure successful project delivery.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Revit and BIM Software.
- Experience in designing technology systems at a design-engineering firm or data center.
- 5+ years of ICT design experience, including physical security systems, IT infrastructure, and audio/visual systems.
- Experience with field inspection, quality control, and construction documentation.
Nice To Haves
- Data center experience is highly preferred.
- Preferred certifications include RCDD, OSP, PMP, PSP, RTPM, CTS (not required).
- Willingness to travel 1-2 times a month, with trips lasting at most 2 nights.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement ICT Data Infrastructure for Data Center Technology projects, including Outside/Inside Fiber Plant, Data Cabling Pathways, Conveyance, Grounding, Wi-Fi, and related Data Systems.
- Handle projects involving Hyper-Scaler Single Tenant, Co-Location, and Enterprise Data Centers ranging from 1MW to 108MW and multi-provider campuses.
- Create detailed Construction Documents, including drawings and specifications.
- Conduct design reviews using Revit, Autodesk Construction, BuildingConnected, and Bluebeam Sessions.
- Perform on-site inspections and develop field reports with national travel to project sites within the continental US.
- Ensure quality control by ensuring compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements and coordinating installation, manufacturing, construction, maintenance, documentation, support, or testing activities.
- Assist with Business Development and Client Outreach Events.
