Tessera is seeking a highly skilled and experienced ICS/EMCS/HVAC Controls Lead to oversee the operation, maintenance, and optimization of integrated control systems (ICS), energy management control systems (EMCS), and HVAC automation across USAFA facilities. This role ensures the reliability, efficiency, and compliance of mission-critical building systems through expert-level technical oversight, coordination, and mentorship.

  • Lead installation, programming, and commissioning of HVAC control systems, including ICS and EMCS platforms.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex control system issues, ensuring optimal performance and energy efficiency.
  • Monitor and fine-tune system operations to support sustainability and mission readiness.
  • Coordinate with engineers and technicians on upgrades, retrofits, and compliance with military standards.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, service activities, and performance metrics.
  • Provide technical leadership, training, and oversight to junior staff and support emergency system continuity.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC controls, EMCS, or building automation systems.
  • Associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, building automation, or a related field preferred.
  • Technical certifications in HVAC controls, building automation systems (BAS), or EMCS highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting building automation systems (BAS) and HVAC controls.
  • Experience with direct digital controls (DDC), PLC programming, SCADA systems, and automation protocols such as BACnet and Modbus.
  • Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, electrical circuits, and low-voltage electronics.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
