About The Position

ICF Incorporated, LLC is seeking a Managing Consultant for Climate Change and Sustainability in Reston, VA. The role involves developing emissions inventories and carbon footprints, conducting greenhouse gas mitigation policy analyses, supporting organizational sustainability, and managing environmental performance data. The consultant will lead lifecycle analyses, assess GHG emissions tied to various projects, and provide recommendations for GHG mitigation strategies. The position also includes supporting clients in understanding their sustainability metrics and conducting technical studies related to climate change impacts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sustainability, or related field.
  • 5 years of progressively responsible experience with sustainability management or consulting in public agencies.
  • 4 years and 6 months of experience building optimized approaches to GHG emissions quantification.
  • 5 years of experience conducting technical studies related to air quality impact and mitigation.
  • 5 years of experience developing and presenting technical environmental analysis.
  • 2 years of experience with survey development.
  • 2 years of experience with lifecycle assessments.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of GHG emissions impact on the environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop emissions inventories and carbon footprints for clients.
  • Build client-facing tools that integrate activity data and quantification processes.
  • Lead lifecycle analyses quantifying GHG emissions tied to facilities, products, or projects.
  • Conduct greenhouse gas mitigation policy analyses and provide recommendations.
  • Support clients in assessing market options for carbon credits and offsets.
  • Help clients set up medium to long-term sustainability planning strategies.
  • Conduct stakeholder engagement and develop materiality assessments.
  • Prepare technical reports based on literature searches and stakeholder engagement.
  • Manage and analyze environmental performance data including GHGs, energy, water, and waste.
  • Act as a project manager for technically complex projects and supervise technical support staff.
