About The Position

The Intern Cultural Enrichment Program (ICEP) Intern position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and collaborative environment. Its goal is to immerse underrepresented minority college students with a paid internship within Charleston's hospitality and tourism community.
The IAAM intern will be introduced to all divisions and departments of the IAAM. Their academic and personal journey will be enhanced through professional development. This role is designed to immerse the intern in various projects that support the goals of the ICEP program, including visitor engagement and administrative support. The intern will contribute to the planning and execution of program activities that foster cross-cultural understanding and professional growth among participants. Through this internship, the candidate will develop valuable skills in communication, project management, and teamwork while gaining insight into the operations of a nonprofit and
educational organization. Ultimately, the intern will play a key role in enhancing the overall visitor experience and supporting the mission of ICEP within the United States context.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited college or university.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Proficiency with standard office software such as Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Assist in organizing and coordinating program events and workshops to ensure smooth execution and visitor engagement.
• Support communication efforts in assigned departments in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with team members to develop materials and resources that enhance the learning and cultural exchange experience.
• Contribute to research and data collection efforts
