About The Position

The Ice Rink Marketing & Design Intern will be responsible for maintaining the Tucson Holiday Ice Rink's social media presence, ensuring that all information is accurate and up-to-date. This role serves as the social media voice of the Holiday Ice Rink, interacting with fans and promoting events through various platforms. The intern will engage in content creation, graphic design, and the execution of social media plans while also acting as a customer service representative for social media followers. Additional responsibilities include updating social media before, during, and after events, designing marketing materials, implementing social media proposals, and coordinating promotional activities to drive ticket sales.

Requirements

• High School Diploma; Bachelor's degree in sports and entertainment, marketing, public relations, mass communications or related field preferred.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), Canva, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and orally.
• Strong proofreading abilities.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with advertisers, employees, and the public.
• Ability to plan, organize, and implement advertising, promotion, publicity, and social media programs.
• Ability to prepare effective reports.
• Demonstrate high level of energy and self-motivation.
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality and use discretion with sensitive information.
• Ability to work long, irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Tucson Holiday Ice Rink social media sites, ensuring all information is up-to-date and accurate.
• Serve as the social media voice of the Holiday Ice Rink.
• Ensure the TCC stays current with industry and social media trends.
• Interact with fans while promoting events through multiple platforms.
• Content creation, graphic design, and producing social media plans.
• Serve as customer service representative to social media followers.
• Update social media before, during, and after Holiday Ice Rink.
• Develop and design all graphic materials including marketing collateral, ads, direct mail pieces, e-newsletters, digital venue, flyers, and dasher boards.
• Create and implement social media and grassroots proposals.
• Update and distribute event calendars and online event listings.
• Conceptualize and execute online promotions to help drive ticket sales.
• Create and disseminate eblasts, text messages, and mobile app push notifications.
• Coordinate photo shoots and media spots with in-house photographer and local media.
• Maintain files (i.e. press clips, photos, booking notices) and printed sales collateral.
• Assist outside design agencies and other entities with coordination of assets.
• Create relevant reports that provide insight into buyer/bidder behavior.
