Ice Rink Maintenance, Part-Time (42701)
About The Position
This is an exciting time for the Park Ridge Park District, Oakton Sports Complex will soon be re-opening its doors to the newly renovated facility. Come work at Oakton and be part of the excitement!! We are seeking an individual to perform routine maintenance and technical work at the Oakton Sports Complex and driving range. The main focus will entail resurfacing and performing preventive ice maintenance. Selected individual will contribute to the overall appearance and quality of the Oakton Sports Complex. Additional responsibilities may include: artificial turf maintenance, cleaning, event setup/takedown, general carpentry, heating, air conditioning, electrical, plumbing, masonry, and painting. Will also repair/replace and perform preventative maintenance on equipment, perform snow removal and maintain operational reports.
Requirements
- Experience operating and maintaining a Zamboni or ability to learn within 3 months.
- A minimum of two years of related experience preferably in an ice arena preferred.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical computations including measuring, calculating and estimating is needed.
- The ability to maintain a positive work relationship with staff and the public is essential.
- Will be required to perform a variety of manual tasks that include lifting items that weigh up to 50 lbs.
- Due to the frequent lifting requirement of this position, an offer of employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a post-offer lift test/ back assessment.
- A valid Illinois Driver’s License is required.
- Must have a basic level of written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
- High School Diploma or GED.
