JOB PURPOSE: We are seeking a highly motivated Project Manager to plan, coordinate, and execute cross-functional ice cream Capital projects within the ice cream production environment at our Covington TN factory. The role ensures that new lines design, process improvements, equipment installations, and operational initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget while maintaining the highest standards of quality, food safety, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate combines strong project management capabilities with experience in food manufacturing, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with operations, R&D, quality, supply chain, and engineering teams.

Requirements

  • 8-10 Years experience in project management within food manufacturing, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or industrial production
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field
  • Demonstrated experience managing engineering or capital equipment projects
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production scheduling, and plant operations
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, AutoCAD, etc.)
  • Understanding of project management principles, early equipment management, lean manufacturing, etc.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Ability to lead and influence up and down the organization
  • Strong ownership of project outcomes
  • Able to navigate through unexpected challenges and drive execution

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in dairy or frozen dessert manufacturing
  • PMP or other project management certification

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage end-to-end manufacturing projects including execution of ice cream packaging line installations, equipment upgrades, ice cream process improvements, plant utilities modifications, refrigeration projects, and civil construction of buildings
  • Develop detailed project plans outlining scope, timelines, milestones, budgets, and resource allocation
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and external vendors
  • Monitor project progress and proactively address risks, bottlenecks, and changes to scope
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, regulatory, and quality standards throughout all project phases
  • Manage vendor relationships and coordinate with equipment suppliers, contractors, and external partners
  • Support new product commercialization by aligning production capabilities with formulation, packaging, and scaling requirements
  • Track and report project performance metrics including timelines, costs, and operational outcomes.
  • Facilitate regular project meetings, status updates, and executive reporting
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize production processes
  • Lead project using EEM (Early Equipment Management) methodology.
  • Forecasting of Capex spend and tracking.
