As a Process Technician in our Covington Mix Plant, you will be a key member of the Mix Plant Team, responsible for operating equipment, following precise formulas, and ensuring the production of high-quality mix to meet scheduled manufacturing demands.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing, mechanical, or technical experience.
  • Processing experience and/or training preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend documentation, instructions, and procedures.
  • Strong written communication for reports and correspondence.
  • Effective verbal communication in one-on-one and small group settings.
  • Numerical aptitude: add, subtract, multiply, divide (English & Metric), calculate percentages, ratios, time, and weight; apply basic algebra and geometry.
  • Form/spatial aptitude: inspect items for proper dimensions; visual acuity for alignment and placement.
  • Reasoning ability: apply common sense to follow instructions and solve problems; interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
  • Manual dexterity: manipulate tools and materials; coordinate hand movements; average eye/hand/foot coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Operate safely and in compliance with all safety policies, including confined space, PPE, fall protection, and other safety practices.
  • Actively participate in the Mix Plant Team culture and support team initiatives such as Star Point.
  • Perform bulk ingredient unloading, tank/silo setup, sanitization, and equipment assembly/disassembly.
  • Operate batching systems to produce mix according to specifications and complete all required documentation.
  • Coordinate with Logistics to order ingredients and forecast needs for outside liquid ingredient purchases.
  • Conduct quality checks on incoming ingredients and finished mixes; collaborate with QA on quality issues.
  • Maintain GMP and cleanliness standards in the mix area.
  • Monitor equipment for malfunctions, perform minor repairs, and communicate recurring issues to management and maintenance.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and troubleshoot processing and mechanical issues.
  • Contribute to TPM efforts, including SOP and Work Instruction documentation, TPM standards, One Point Lessons, and Kaizen events.
  • Maintain OSHA Certified Forklift License.
  • Support additional duties in receiving, batching, pasteurization, ingredient prep, rework, and sanitation as assigned.
