About The Position

A power generation facility is seeking an IC&E Technician to support the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of instrumentation, electrical systems, and control equipment within the plant. This role is responsible for ensuring reliable operation of plant instrumentation, electrical components, and control systems used in power generation. The IC&E Technician will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment, assist with troubleshooting system issues, support outage activities, and maintain accurate maintenance documentation.

Requirements

  • Associate degree from a technical school or equivalent technical training preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a power plant or heavy industrial environment
  • Strong knowledge of instrumentation, electrical systems, and plant control systems
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
  • Experience with electrical testing equipment and diagnostic tools
  • Basic computer proficiency for maintenance records and reporting
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, overtime, and rotating weekend coverage
  • Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to safely work with high voltage equipment and hazardous materials
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to plant safety and regulatory compliance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with combustion turbine or combined cycle power plant maintenance preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection, maintenance, repair, and calibration of instrumentation, electrical systems, and control equipment.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot motors, generators, transformers, switches, control systems, and electrical equipment up to 18kV (higher voltage exposure possible under supervision).
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on plant equipment including turbines, CEMS, and auxiliary systems.
  • Diagnose equipment problems using schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Prepare and complete work orders, maintenance reports, and equipment records.
  • Maintain equipment documentation including drawings, manuals, and maintenance logs.
  • Assist with inventory management and spare parts forecasting.
  • Support plant outage activities and equipment inspections.
  • Follow and enforce plant safety procedures including LOTO, hot work, confined space, and JHA permits.
  • Operate hand tools, testing equipment, precision instruments, and diagnostic tools required for maintenance work.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain electrical systems up to 230kV under supervision.
  • Assist with shipping, receiving, and materials handling when required.
  • Participate in plant maintenance programs and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Complete required training and certifications.
  • Provide occasional weekend coverage and overtime support as needed.
