About The Position

Quartech delivers Application Management Services within a large, complex public sector environment that supports critical financial and social assistance programs across British Columbia. The successful Operations Analyst will work within a high-volume, mission-critical application portfolio that underpins more than $3 billion in annual benefit transfers and supports the accurate and timely processing of more than 3 million payments each year. This role contributes to the stability, coordination, and continuous support of business-critical systems essential to frontline service delivery. This role ensures the reliable execution of operational processes, scheduled jobs, batch cycles, and maintenance activities in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of related experience in a professional, enterprise IT environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including shift coverage between 7:00 AM and 8:00 PM, Monday to Friday, and one weekend shift per month
  • Strong customer service orientation and commitment to service excellence
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Willingness to work closely with team members, clients, and vendors in a collaborative, fast-paced operational environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent interpersonal abilities

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the successful delivery of daily operations and production control tasks for BC Ministry applications, ensuring that the legacy applications and environments operating as expected.
  • Supporting the Ministry’s daily computer operations scheduled tasks and production control requests on working days from 7:00am to 8:00pm.
  • Perform operational tasks in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Help maintain the stability and efficiency of scheduled batch processing streams, manage schedule change requests, and perform initial issue troubleshooting.
  • Execute compilation, migration, and post-migration activities based on developer instructions, while coordinating with external service providers as required.
  • Provide ongoing monitoring, troubleshooting, and system health checks.
  • Support scheduled operational activities such as major project releases, database reorganizations, and annual disaster recovery exercises.
  • Use ServiceNow to support incident, change, and release management processes, including production incidents and data correction changes.
  • Produce benefit cheque and electronic payment outputs in accordance with the monthly processing schedule.
  • Ensure timely production of payment files to meet downstream printing, mailing, and treasury deadlines.
  • Communicate progress, status updates, and any deviations from schedule throughout month-end processing.
  • Provide online and on-call support during month-end processing until all cheque and report production activities have been successfully completed.
  • Help ensure accurate payment processing through established checks, balances, and validation procedures.
  • Complete all jobs and tasks deemed critical to month-end processing timelines.
  • Escalate issues that may impact the achievement of key month-end milestones in accordance with incident escalation guidelines.
