About The Position

The Investment Banking Chief Controls Office (CCO) Vice President (VP) role is a six-month temporary assignment focused on enhancing the control environment within the organization. The CCO aims to improve control processes, provide effective management tools, and report on control-related matters. This position involves collaborating with various departments to manage risk and strengthen controls, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and standards.

Requirements

• Experience working with Investment Banking products or in roles such as Operations, Compliance, Legal, Credit, Product Control, or Finance.
• Ability to influence senior management and balance risk versus business interests while ensuring compliance with policies.
• Good understanding of Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF), Operational Risk Framework (ORF), and Barclays Control Framework (BCF).
• Experience in a control-type role with a demonstrated risk management mindset.
• Effective written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present to senior stakeholders.
• Proficient Excel skills, including managing large data sets and using advanced functions like Vlookup.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with various stakeholders across the bank to improve overall control effectiveness through detailed documentation of control assessments, procedures, and findings.
• Identify and investigate potential weaknesses within internal controls to promote continuous improvement and risk mitigation.
• Develop reports to communicate key findings from risk assessments, including control weaknesses and recommendations to control owners and senior management.
• Execute reviews to determine the effectiveness of the bank's internal controls framework aligned to established policies and best practices.
• Implement adherence to the Barclays Controls Framework and assess controls against it.
