About The Position

We are seeking an entry-level Identity & Access Management (IAM) Engineering Specialist to join our security and IT team. This role is ideal for someone early in their cybersecurity or IT career who is eager to develop hands-on experience in identity systems, authentication technologies, and access controls. You will support the administration, monitoring, and continuous improvement of IAM platforms that ensure users have secure and appropriate access to systems and data. This position provides strong growth opportunities in cybersecurity, cloud identity, and zero trust security models.

Requirements

  • 0–3 years of experience in IT, cybersecurity, help desk, or related technical roles
  • Foundational understanding of identity and access concepts (authentication vs. authorization, MFA, SSO)
  • Familiarity with Active Directory or similar directory services
  • Basic understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to learn IAM tools and security best practices

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to IAM platforms such as Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, SailPoint, Ping, or similar
  • Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Python, or similar)
  • Understanding of security fundamentals and least-privilege principles
  • Associate-level certifications (Security+, AZ-900, SC-900, or similar)
  • Relevant internship or lab experience

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing user identity lifecycle processes, including account provisioning, deprovisioning, and access modifications
  • Support Single Sign-On (SSO) and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) configurations
  • Respond to and troubleshoot basic identity and access issues (Tier 1/2 support)
  • Monitor IAM systems for alerts, access anomalies, and operational issues
  • Help maintain role-based access controls (RBAC) and least-privilege principles
  • Assist with periodic access reviews and audit support activities
  • Document IAM procedures, workflows, and configurations
  • Participate in IAM-related projects and system enhancements
  • Work with security, infrastructure, and application teams to onboard new applications into IAM platforms
