About The Position

The IAC Keshet Facilitator will facilitate the sessions for children ages 4-7 and lead group recreational activities and games to enhance the program objectives during Keshet regular sessions and Keshet community events. This is a 5-15 hours per week position and the IAC Keshet Facilitator reports to the IAC Los Angeles Young Families Director.

Requirements

  • Experience in youth movement or equivalent.
  • 2 years of related job experience in counseling groups of children is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Israeli culture and Jewish tradition.
  • Natural love and ability to work and relate to young children and parents.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Hebrew and English (Speaking, reading, writing).
  • Passion regarding community building.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in educational content development is a plus.
  • Experience in the Israeli education sector is a plus.
  • Experience in music, theater and arts is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the content, implementation, and quality of Keshet programs through an Israeli childhood experience, based on structured lesson plans in weekly sessions and community events.
  • Present subject to children using discussions, role-playing methods in a fun and creative way that is appropriate to the age group.
  • Prepare & maintain session materials, and classroom space that helps enrich the content of the program.
  • Assist children individually or in small groups in order to help them master assignments and to reinforce learning concepts presented by the facilitator.
  • Always be responsible for the children's physical and emotional safety.
  • Instruct and monitor participants in the use and care of equipment and materials, in order to prevent injuries and damage.
  • Sending 'take-home' components and ensuring parent and family engagement around the activities, in accordance with the Program Director’s guidelines.
  • Availability to attend Keshet staff training and weekly Keshet staff meetings.
  • Conduct surveys to identify program successes and opportunities for improvement.
  • Brand management – Assures that all IAC events and programs are appropriately branded within the content and design of the event.
  • Enforce administration policies and rules governing programs.
  • Observing children’s performance, documenting relevant data to assess their progress, and reporting to the Program Director.
  • Take attendance and maintain attendance records.
  • Work in the afternoons, evenings and weekends, and as needed for regional activities.
