About The Position

We are seeking IT interns to support the following areas for the summer of 2025: Helpdesk/IT Operations Cybersecurity Development Our IT team is specifically seeking upcoming graduates that have the ability to obtain a Security Clearance. All interns must be within local commuting distance to Reston, VA and be available for at least 10 weeks. Application process for interns will close on Friday, February 29th @11:59 EST. Responsibilities

  • Helpdesk Interns: Learn and assist with ServiceNow workflows, including ticket handling, task tracking, and process documentation. Gain hands-on exposure to enterprise Microsoft 365 environments and how they are managed at scale. Support endpoint management activities, including device compliance and basic troubleshooting. Develop an understanding of how IT operations support cybersecurity, risk management, and compliance requirements. Learn foundational concepts around capacity planning, demand forecasting, and service delivery metrics used in IT operations.
  • Cybersecurity Interns: Work hands-on with real cybersecurity tools used in production environments, not just classroom or lab simulations. Learn how endpoint protection and security monitoring tools like Microsoft Defender, SentinelOne, and Microsoft Secure Score are used in day-to-day operations. Help support monthly system updates (Patch Tuesday) by assisting with coordination, testing, and validation. Build an understanding of how cybersecurity supports business requirements and compliance standards. Get exposure to widely used security and IT frameworks such as ISO 27001, ISO 20000, ISO 22301, ISO 28000, and CMMC Level 2. Learn why security controls exist and how everyday tasks help organizations pass audits and stay compliant. Observe and assist with incident response activities, threat briefings, and Security Operations Center (SOC) operations. Take part in hands-on learning activities such as tabletop exercises, phishing simulations, and vulnerability reviews.
  • Development Interns: Gain hands-on experience working with live, production-impacting systems under guidance and supervision. Support development and operations work across a variety of platforms, including AI/ML systems, internal enterprise tools, and government-facing applications. Get exposure to modern cloud and automation technologies such as Azure, OpenAI, APIs, and Power Automate. Learn and apply secure development best practices throughout the software and automation lifecycle. Develop an understanding of change management processes, release controls, and how updates are safely deployed to production systems.
